Casa Abierta

Ponce PR

2016-2018

This project proposes an architecture of simple elements and basic materials. Interior and exterior living spaces are defined by their relationship with each other in a linear sequence that accommodates the topography and permits open views to north and south. The house is divided into three blocks, with patios that extend the interior space. Each block is focused on a programmatic preference that is related to different privacy needs: living room, kitchen and bedrooms, promoting a shared experience. This is the type of project that simply cannot be understood through image and needs to be lived to be understood. Spatial qualities and relationships that become apparent through participation are hard to put into words.
