Casa en El Peñón

Peñuelas PR

2012-2015

From the beginning of the design process, the goal of this project was to build a house completely oriented to views, breezes and open space. These intentions became fully manifested with the completed project, while the geometric order and structural logic contributed to achieve a simultaneously rational and emotional construction. A simple organization is turned into a sequence of quite different spaces through variations in ceiling height. Diagonal views between the living spaces and the more private media room, separated by a centralized entrance courtyard, make apparent open views towards the sea that promote a sense of place and orientation. These spatial characteristics (spatial features) are meant to be understood in a physical sense, implicitly and unconsciously, without effort. Architecture can work that way.
